With more than 20 years of combined optics experience, the Lookout, formerly known as Arizona Field Optics, is an authority on field optics and their many uses. Whether you use your glass for nature viewing, hunting, recreational shooting, or any other outdoor pursuit, we’re here to both educate and assist you in making the right choice for your needs.

In addition to selling high-quality optics, we use them on a daily basis and have an intimate understanding of how they’re applied in real-world conditions. We pride ourselves on our product knowledge, but above all, we value the individual relationship we build with each customer.

We carry only the highest-quality products from reputable, trusted companies. If we don’t personally use a product, if we wouldn’t stake our own weekend trip or outdoor experience on it, then we won’t recommend it to you. We choose to do business only with brands that share our priorities: exceptional products and unmatched customer service.

Our Staff

Eric Moore

Eric's interest in high-quality optics grew from a lifelong passion for birding. That journey began early—at the age of 13, he joined the Tucson chapter of the National Audubon Society. Since then, he has led bird walks, overseen the Spring Migratory Bird Count, and participated in the Christmas Bird Count in Tucson, Provo, and Prescott.

In 2003, Eric founded Jay's Bird Barn, now the Lookout, and began helping birders select the right optics to match their interests. He continues to offer high-quality consulting and support as part of the Lookout team.
